Inventors Create Eco-Friendly Plastic Literally From Thin Air

We all know technology can change the world. It's amazing when it happens literally out of thin air.

Two inventors in California have discovered a way to pull carbon out of the air, solidify it and use it to make plastics. The childhood friends trap methane emissions at dairy farms and turn it into a product called AirCarbon, defying scores of scientists who told them their pursuit would prove too costly.

The eco-friendly plastic will be used to make furniture, food containers and car parts, according to USA Today. The breakthrough has the former director of global biotech research and development at Dow Chemical saying, "I wish I was smart enough to figure this out."

Essent applauds innovative, creative technology that in this case has the potential to so positively impact the human race. Imagine the implications for industries, like the promotional products industry, that strive to be eco-friendly.
