We recently let you know about an effort from our friends at Kids In Need and Bic, who have teamed up to help underserved students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The #PostForPencils campaign promises 20 pencils donated to students for each social media post that uses the hashtag, with a goal of providing 1 million pencils.

The campaign runs through April 26 and is already going strong. Have a look at some well-known people doing their part:

Shaquille O’Neal

WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil

Media Personality Mike Golic Jr.

Pencils are the most requested school supply, according to Kids In Need, and a critical need for 5 million students who don’t have access to technology or the internet at home, which is an especially acute situation during the pandemic.

Essent has pitched in not just in the #PostForPencils campaign but with annual donations to the Kids In Need Foundation. We provide the organization with items from our PPAI Expo booth each year, which can either be used in the classroom or to raise funds for classroom help.

Any Expo exhibitor can arrange to donate items after the show ends. The Foundation staffs a table near the entrance. All you have to do is go over, let them know what you want to donate, and they’ll pick it up once the show closes.
