New Essent Booth Helps Charity and the Environment

Essent is supporting charity and reducing its carbon footprint with its 2019 PPAI Expo booth.

School children benefit from much needed supplies, and Essent reduces its carbon footprint by greatly reducing the amount of items it ships. Essent encourages every exhibitor to help children by donating to the Kids In Need Foundation at the PPAI Expo.

Essent is donating most of its booth (4851) to the Kids In Need Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that PPAI has supported since 2007. Kids In Need provides school supplies to students in financially distressed schools.

"Over our 15 years of exhibiting to the promotional products industry, Essent has shipped tons and tons of trade show booth items over thousands of miles cross-country. We absolutely loved our high-tech, aircraft aluminum girder booth design and got plenty of compliments, but we never liked the environmental and financial costs that literally burned into thin air,” said Essent President & CEO Eric Alessi.

"Essent develops innovative technology solutions and when we applied that creative thought process to our PPAI Expo booth, the result was a solution that’s a win for everyone. Our approach is to ship less and only ship one way by donating elements of our booth, like furniture and electronics, that are cheaper to buy again next year.”

Kids in Need, with representatives stationed near the main entrance at the Expo, accepts booth items to help school children. Items that can be used in the classroom are used in the classroom, and those that aren’t a fit for the classroom are sold to raise money for items that are.

Kids In Need, which benefited from PPAI’s Giving Tuesday campaign, is asking for help to reach its goal of giving 880 students a backpack filled with school supplies.
