Essent Receives Keepsake for Aiding Eco-Friendly Pool Project

Essent has received a +POOL tile for donating toward an ambitious initiative to make part of a New York City river eco-friendly enough for swimming by the end of 2016.

The tile came in a shade that very closely resembles Essent blue. And it looks great next to all of the Microsoft certification plaques in the Essent offices.

The +POOL is planned as a 9,000-square-foot pool that floats in the river and filters the water to swimmable standards, creating a recreation area while improving the environment. Essent donated to the project because it was impressed with the effort to use technology for the common good.

The tile is a keepsake from the pool makers. A similar tile will form part of the pool itself.

TIME magazine also recognized the innovation of the +POOL, naming it among the top 25 inventions of 2013.
