An Americana Music Association nominated rock band will play a well-known venue on the famed Sixth Street in Austin, Texas, for the Essent-sponsored signature party at the 2017 PPAI North American Leadership Conference and Technology Summit.

The Experience Austin! Networking Event is 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. August 15 at Maggie Mae’s. Maggie Mae’s is known for its constant live music and enormous rooftop bar in the heart of Austin’s historic and entertainment districts.

In addition to sponsoring The Experience Austin! Networking Event, Essent is Platinum Sponsor of the NALC and Platinum Sponsor of the Tech Summit.

The Band of Heathens are Austin natives and will play two live sets. In 2009, the band was nominated for a "New Emerging Artist" award at the Americana Music Honors & Awards. In 2010, the band was once again honored by the Americana Music Association as nominees for the "Best Duo/Group of the Year". Band of Heathens released their fifth studio production album "Duende” in 2016.

While there is no formal dinner, guests will be served an almost inexhaustible run of Tex-Mex and BBQ hors d’oeuvres.

Maggie Mae’s, within walking distance of the NALC-Summit, "is a local legend and no visit to Austin is the same without a view from the largest rooftop on Sixth Street,” according to its website. It has a sports bar, English Pub, New Orleans-style courtyard, and three live-music stages within four restored historic buildings that comprise one of the largest entertainment venues in downtown Austin.

PromoCorner President and NALC organizer Bill Petrie says expect some weirdness in Austin. PPAI IT Director Paul Elfstrom says the conferences are the ideal mix of leadership and technology.
