Two of our favorite partners in the promotional products industry have come together to help schoolchildren during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kids In Need Foundation, a nonprofit that provides school supplies to underserved students, and BIC, the well-known supplier of writing instruments in the promotional products industry and beyond, have teamed up for a campaign called #PostForPencils.

Through April 26, BIC will donate 20 pencils for each post that includes the hashtag #PostForPencils.

Through April 26, BIC will donate 20 pencils for each post that includes the hashtag #PostForPencils on Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok. Mentioning the campaign on LinkedIn or Twitter also is worth a 20-pencil donation.

Kids In Need says pencils are the most requested school supply. For 5 million students who don’t have access to technology or the internet at home pencils are a must-have tool, according to Kids In Need.

"Fine motor skills, dexterity, creativity, and communication can all be unlocked with the power of this simple tool. With a pencil in their hand, students have a chance to succeed this school year,” Kids In Need says in its #PostForPencils announcement.

The campaign aims to put pencils in the hands of at least 1 million students.

Essent has relationships with both Kids In Need and BIC. Essent donates PPAI Expo booth items to Kids In Need annually. And BIC technologists work closely with Essent through the PromoStandards integration organization.

We’ll be making our #PostForPencils posts and encourage everyone in the promotional products industry to do the same.
