Data Integration

Essent® InSite® has the ability to be enhanced to directly integrate into other external systems, including trouble ticketing systems. InSite can exchange data via industry-standard interfaces and protocols including File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Post Office Protocol (POP), Messaging API (MAPI), Telephony API (TAPI), Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), Hypertext Transport Protocol (HTTP), and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). Data formats can be binary, ASCII Text Files, dBase, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, or extensible Markup Language (XML). Data can be exchanged via electronic document exchange, direct integration via database connections, or formal Application Programming Interface (API). Additionally InSite supports a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) via an API based on the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Service standard. InSite Web Services support Web Service Description Language (WSDL) to formally document the API function calls, XML to structure the data, and SOAP to post requests and get results.

Wireless Communications Carriers looking for integration with a number of external systems including ticketing systems, Fault Management Systems, Site Inventory/Site Database. Additional systems such as: Network Inventory, ERP platforms, and CRM/Billing applications. Data from additional sources, including external network probes for Telecom, IT, and other sources can also be integrated into Essent InSite. This data can be collected, processed, warehoused, and be available to the user community as canned reports and selectable in ad-hoc queries.

Essent will perform an analysis to determine the exact data and transport functions between the systems to determine if any additional features will be implemented. Due to the breath of data exchange protocols supported by InSite, it is expected integration will be possible with any other open system.

Essent has developed many import tools across its suite of applications and coupled with Data Transformation Services, Essent can implement the ability for users to upload forecasting information and correlate with performance metrics.
