More than simple Virtual Products, direct2decoration allows complete custom orders to be specified, priced, and produced using proven Essent product configuration technology. Now Promotional Product distributors and suppliers can place this revolutionary technology directly in the hands of their customers, while eliminating artwork product time, errors, and costs.
The direct2decoration solution is an ecommerce service hosted by Essent that combines Essent SiteBuilder Pro, the Essent Visual Product Configurator, and the new Product Artwork Generator.
The solution, specifically designed for the unique needs of the Promotional Products Industry, allows users, including end customers, to completely and accurately custom-configure a promotional product.
The Visual Product Configurator allows users to create custom products based on predefined rules. The configurator visually displays the changes and automatically recalculates pricing in real-time as customizations are made. Artwork elements may be uploaded, positioned, and optionally stored in the Essent ArtVault for future use.
Customers can generate a composite proof that shows the custom-configured virtual product. For distributors and suppliers, the Product Artwork Generator automatically creates custom, production-ready artwork as an electronic document in the PDF/X format. The format, defined by ISO 15930 as an international standard, describes the CMYK Color Table, Spot Colors, Bleeds, and Traps.
The artwork is preflight and prepress ready. Potentially thousands of devices, like Raster Image Processors (RIP) for Variable Data Printing (VDP also known as Variable Information Printing) and Direct to Garment printers are supported. Through direct2decoration, custom jobs can be produced with minimal or no human intervention.
